Project S.N.A.P. partnered with Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago on a 10'x10' mosaic mural that is displayed in the lobby of the new state-of-the-art hospital.
The mosaic mural
is one of the most unique pieces of art in the hospital because it includes hundreds of artworks made by members of the Lurie Children's family. Look closely and you can see the individual tiles that create the larger image. Step back, and you will see an image that reflects a map of the city of
Chicago from a child's perspective.
Each and every tile tells a special story of a patient or loved one who has been touched by Lurie Children's. Everyone from nurses, to volunteers, to students in local schools and even Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago CEO, Patrick Magoon contributed artworks. In addition, hundreds of donors chose to recognize family, friends, colleagues, and loved ones through the tribute language printed on some of the thousands of tiles that make up
this mosaic mural. The result is a beautiful representation of the power of community, philanthropy, and love.
Donors and artwork contributors can find their tile online in the Project S.N.A.P. Online Art Museum.
Lurie Children's is grateful to those who generously supported this mosaic mural project and to all who contributed artworks.
