Create a Picture

BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

Tell the world how you feel about nature, taking care of the earth and the environment. BE ORIGINAL and SEND US ORIGINAL ARTWORK! You must create your own artwork. Do not copy or trace someone else's artwork.

YOU CAN:

  • Draw a picture.
  • Write a message with a colorful background.
  • Draw a picture and include a written message inside of it.

In your picture, include anything natural to the earth, from the smallest blade of grass to flowers, leaves, or plants, and as big as trees, forests, mountains, oceans and the sky. You can include animals, birds, insects, or anything living in nature. If you need help with this, ask your parents to help you.

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Your picture must be created on an 8.5 x 11" piece of paper. If you can, ask your parents to help you find paper that is made from recycled materials.
  2. On the back of your drawing write your:
    • First and Last Name
    • Teacher Last Name
    • School Name
    • Grade
  3. Your picture should be drawn so it is in landscape orientation. That means it should be 11" wide
    and 8.5" tall.
  4. Use crayons, markers, colored pencils. Make your colors bold and bright!
  5. If you are writing a message inside your picture, try to keep the message to 10 words or less.
  6. If you are writing a message only, decorate your paper so that the words have a picture around them.
  7. DO NOT PUT ANY OF THESE THINGS INSIDE YOUR PICTURE:
    • DO NOT write your name on the front of the picture
    • NO Human-made objects like buildings, poles, wires, bridges, houses, etc.
    • Inappropriate language or subject matter.
    • NO glitter, glue, sand, or anything that isn't flat on the page. Your picture is going to be scanned so we need it to be flat.
