Roy Feinson

Roy Feinson obtained his degree in photographic sciences and visual communication in South Africa before moving to the U.S. in 1980. An accomplished software engineer, he has designed and implemented numerous systems for scientific and graphic applications -- including artificial life, artificial intelligence and forensic image analysis -- and is the holder of a US Patent for an Interpretive Tone Device, which is now used as predictive text on cell phones.
His books have been translated into eleven languages and have sold over 300,000 copies. His current book The Secret Language of Names (Overlook Press) deals with the evolutionary underpinnings of language and names.
His primary passion is seeing the world in a way that has never been seen before and he has developed a number of software systems to further this quest and Feinson's thirty five large-scale works for Disneyland's 50th anniversary included the world's largest live mosaic. It also featured the world's first tri-level mosaic with almost a million photographs. Feinson was recently selected as the featured artist for the upcoming Grammy's 50th anniversary.
